Can I also make an application by post or e-mail?
We prefer online applications – either by e-mail (firstname.lastname@example.org) or via the “Apply now” button.
Why does Design Offices prefer online applications?
We aim to reply to your application promptly. The fastest way is to apply via the “Apply now” button on our website – your documents are then sent to us directly via the system.
When can I expect a response?
Immediately after applying, you’ll receive confirmation of receipt. We will then contact you within one or two weeks. The exact application procedure is found here.
Which documents do I require and in which format?
We require your contact details, your CV, all relevant certificates/references, your salary expectations and your earliest start date. You can send us these documents as PDF or Word files (max. 10 MB) via e-mail (email@example.com) or can upload them to our website.
In which language should I make the application?
Generally in German. If you have trouble writing in German, then English can also be used. However, you must be able to communicate well in German for day-to-day customer contact.
What happens to my data?
Your data will obviously be treated confidentially according and according to the European GDPR.
I am interested in several vacancies. Do I have to make multiple applications?
If there are different contact partners for the jobs concerned, then you have to make several applications. Please mention in your application which other jobs you have applied for. This ensures the subsequent procedure runs smoothly. If the same contact partner is handling different vacancies, declare your interest in the various positions in your application.
I’m willing to work at several locations. How can I indicate that?
If you wish to apply for the same position at several locations, please indicate this in your application.
Can I submit a speculative application when there are currently no vacancies? To whom should I send it?
We’re always pleased to receive strong speculative applications. Please use the online procedure for speculative applications.
When can I start applying for jobs at new locations that are opening?
All vacancies will appear online in due course. This is followed by the standard application procedure. The only difference is that the interview takes place at one of our other Design Offices locations.
How important are my exam grades in the application process?
Exam grades are not of primary importance to us. Much more important is possessing the right skills, the desire to learn new things and being enthusiastic about new work-related matters. Our team is united by one thing above all – the enthusiasm to achieve great things and continue our success story. The most important thing is wanting to be part of that and that we are well matched.
What are the selection criteria?
You will find the qualification requirements in the job details. General requirements: You communicate well in German and English and are open to new things. Occupying a host role, you’ll have a strong service provider mentality. Your interpersonal and communications skills and ability to work in a team are also important.
Why is there an initial Skype interview with a HR specialist before I’m invited to an interview?
The Skype interview, which lasts around 30 minutes, is intended as an initial exchange. We present Design Offices, answer your questions and look forward to finding out more about you.

Our employment contracts are generally permanent.
Do Design Offices provide traineeships?
We don’t currently have any traineeship places. However, we do plan to introduce them over the long-term.
Is it worth making an application without training/qualifications in the hotel industry?
Most definitely! Newcomers to the industry are just as welcome as any other candidates. We’re not just looking for people with a conventional career path. More important to us is genuine people who enjoy achieving great things.
What can I expect on my first day of work and what should I remember?
There's nothing in particular to remember for your first day, unless there are recruitment documents missing. What is awaiting you? Colleagues who look forward to your arrival, our inspiring Design Offices location and exciting tasks. Just be yourself.
How does the induction work?
You’ll be inducted by your new colleagues over the first few weeks. A two-day onboarding workshop takes place every two months and you’ll attend the next one. Here you’ll get to know your new colleagues, will find out more about Design Offices and will increase your knowledge of the world of new work.
Is there an onboarding programme?
We want you to feel at home from the very first day – our helpful team and our welcoming culture will make your induction an enjoyable experience. A mentor will also support you at the start. Two-day onboarding workshops will also take place on a regular basis. Here you’ll find out everything you need to know for your career start and will get to know new employees from other locations.

Does Design Offices provide advanced training opportunities?Yes, because we attach great importance to staff development. This is why we’ve set up our Design Offices Academy. Together with your line manager, you’ll put together an individual training plan. Professional coaches will teach you professional and personal skills in interactive workshops using new work methods.
